Social Studies: Lesson 9, Sections 2-7
--Play the audio for Section 2 (alternately, use the Cards of Fate to cold call on students to read)
--Students may follow along on page 119 in their textbook (recommended for visual learners)
--Ask students to calmly walk around the room with their seat partner and look at the neon posters.  Have them find the four words or terms that connect with what they just heard.
--They should return to their seats to complete the workbook page 75 for Section 2.

--Repeat for Sections 3-7

--Once students have completed today's classwork, they may read or begin the "Processing" assignment.

Homework:

  • SS Lesson 9, Sections 2-7: textbook p. 119-125 and workbook p. 75-78
  • Complete the "Processing" assignment on p. 78 of your SS Workbook using a separate sheet of paper.
  • Read a good book.  AR points are due by December 18.

**If you are on the CJSF trip, make sure you come in at break or lunch on Monday or Tuesday to complete problem #1 of SS Sections 2-5.  Also, you have a rough draft of your thank you card or letter due Monday.

Review Learning Targets/Exit Ticket: Reflecting on the Planning Process (5 minutes) 4. Homework A. Revise your Pygmalion Essay Planner (both body paragraphs) and consider if you want to add another identity trait. B.  Finish planning your intro, conclusion, and counterclaim in the Unit 2, Lesson 14 Packet. C.  Work on the Illuminated Manuscript Project.  Write or type the first page today with information from Lesson 9, Section 2.  Decorate the first letter of the first word of your text.

Have missing tests/assignments? Still need to meet your Q3 AR goal? This post is for YOU!

I was imagining that the district would reset the dates for AR, the end of third quarter, and the grading deadlines, so that we could deal with AR tests, absent work & make-up tests in person once we were back in school. It appears that I was wrong. (*gasp*) At this time, it appears that all district deadlines will stay the same.  That means that Q3 ends on Tuesday, March 24, and Q4 begins on Wednesday, March 25.  It also means I need to finalize grades as soon as possible.  To that end, I will not be adding any new test or assignment columns. (There were just too many absences during the last week we were together to do it any other way.)  If you have work that has a zero at this point, you should keep reading. So, here's the plan: First of all, everyone should check over all of their grades for all of their classes.   Make sure you're looking at each assignment for each class.  Make a list of issues you need to address.  Write down: Course title, title of assignm
