Hi! I'm so glad you're here!

This is a note about how we will work together even though we're apart.  It has general information:

I am here to help you through this. I promise to be patient with you; I'll need your patience, too.
We were really, really good at doing school in person. Now we get to become good at doing school remotely. We won't be perfect right away, but we'll get better with practice.

I want to make things as clear as possible, so:
We will be using the class blog to coordinate all of our coursework.
1. Check the blog daily, then use Google Classroom: Classwork to complete the work that is assigned there and turn it in. (Make sure you hit the "turn in" button.)
2. Use TCI to complete much of your Social Studies work. (Remember to log in through Clever.)
3. Use the AJHS Library webpage to take your AR tests at home when you finish a book.
4. Use Synergy to check your grades regularly.

If things are confusing, you can ask a question on Google Classroom or email me through Synergy.

Okay, on to today!

Tomorrow (Tuesday, March 23) is the last day of Quarter 3.  We have some things to take care of today so that we can finish strong.

Here's our coursework for today:
  • Language Arts--
    • Go to Google Classroom and complete "Roll Call!"--due today.
    • Turn in anything on Google Classroom that needs to be submitted.
    • Make sure all of your Storyboards are complete, including the title page. If not, finish. 
    • Find a partner who will give you feedback on your Children's book.  It could be a classmate, a parent, a friend, or a sibling that gives good quality feedback.  Arrange a time to work with them for at least 15 minutes tomorrow or Wednesday.
  • Social Studies--
    • Correct Lesson 14 in your SS Workbook using the "Lesson 14" document on Google Classroom.
    • Go to Quizlet and study one of the Lesson 14 sets that you, your classmates, or your dear teacher posted.  The class join code is here if you aren't yet a member of our class.
    • Log in to TCI through Clever and play the Lesson 14 game.
    • Then, in TCI, take the Lesson 14 Quiz.
  • AR--
    • Tuesday is the AR deadline for Q3.  If you need to take an AR test, go to the AJHS library website, and log in the way you normally do.  Heads Up--apparently, AR tests are closed on the weekends.
    • Need a new book to read? Check this out.

Review Learning Targets/Exit Ticket: Reflecting on the Planning Process (5 minutes) 4. Homework A. Revise your Pygmalion Essay Planner (both body paragraphs) and consider if you want to add another identity trait. B.  Finish planning your intro, conclusion, and counterclaim in the Unit 2, Lesson 14 Packet. C.  Work on the Illuminated Manuscript Project.  Write or type the first page today with information from Lesson 9, Section 2.  Decorate the first letter of the first word of your text.

Have missing tests/assignments? Still need to meet your Q3 AR goal? This post is for YOU!

I was imagining that the district would reset the dates for AR, the end of third quarter, and the grading deadlines, so that we could deal with AR tests, absent work & make-up tests in person once we were back in school. It appears that I was wrong. (*gasp*) At this time, it appears that all district deadlines will stay the same.  That means that Q3 ends on Tuesday, March 24, and Q4 begins on Wednesday, March 25.  It also means I need to finalize grades as soon as possible.  To that end, I will not be adding any new test or assignment columns. (There were just too many absences during the last week we were together to do it any other way.)  If you have work that has a zero at this point, you should keep reading. So, here's the plan: First of all, everyone should check over all of their grades for all of their classes.   Make sure you're looking at each assignment for each class.  Make a list of issues you need to address.  Write down: Course title, title of assignm
