Heads Up! This is TUESDAY'S blog post.
Periods 3 and 4:
Pre-Test for Unit 3 (Lessons 13 & 14)
---The point of a pre-test is to introduce your brain to (potentially) new ideas. It does not count toward your grade in the course, but you should still consider each problem as a "preview" of what is to come.
Done? Keep your test and read your AR book. Allow students until the last 10 minutes of each period (11:23 for 3rd period and 12:18 for 4th period) to read silently and independently. If necessary, they may use the library to take an AR test, check out a book, or return a book.
At 11:23/12:18, Students should correct their own pre-test using a correcting pen. Please collect them as Exit Tickets as students exit the classroom for 4th or lunch.
Periods 5 and 6:
Using your SS Textbook (p. 182--183) and Workbook (p. 110-112), complete the Unit 3 Geography Challenge as a class.
Call on students to read Textbook p. 183 aloud.
Then, reread as you complete the problems on p. 111 and 112 of the Workbook together.
Do problems 1-5 whole class with modeling under the doc cam as you discuss each problem, students do problems 6-8 with a partner, and problem 9 individually.
Once they finish problem #9, they should silently begin tonight's homework.
Homework:
Finish classwork: SS Textbook p. 182--183 and Workbook p. 110--112
Read SS Textbook p. 185--187 and complete SS Workbook p. 113--115
Read a good book for 30+ minutes tonight
